Civil Engineering

  • Course Overview

Civil Engineering is one of the oldest branches of engineering. It's a spinal cord of a country's private and public goods dealing with designing, constructing and supervising the infrastructure like dams, roads, bridges, waste water treatment plants etc. It is studied under various heads like Geotechnical Engineering, Control Engineering, Forensic Engineering, Water Resource Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Construction Engineering and Structural Engineering amongst others.

Civil Engineers not only focus on the construction process, but also look upon cost calculation, personnel requirements, materials' estimation, marking deadline, making proposals of the project concerned. Be it the construction of municipal sewer systems or water canals, every construction goes under their supervision. Besides, civil engineers are reliable enough as they take care of supply of energy, clean water and recycling wastes along with keeping in mind the issues pertaining to pollution.
