Projects are a crucial part of any program at IITT. The Projects are done by a group of students and are intended to be intensive, active learning projects, requiring significant effort in planning and implementation as well as preparation of a substantial final written work product. The group students are made to choose a project from their domain and asked to conduct practical and real life studies on them. They provide hands on learning experience to the students by enabling them by making them aware how to convert the theoretical knowledge to the practical one They also help to boost 'learning by doing' teamwork.

This imbibes in the students the basic orientation about research and lets them develop an insight on how the basic research is conducted which further helps them in their further studies.

This is a very flexible method to allow the students to select when such study takes place and to adjust the pace of learning. In addition, our students benefit from use of the web, CD ROM catalogues, desktop publishing and industry standard office software. Web pages are available for each of the specialities of a program for updation regarding current developments in the discipline. Both teachers and students update this page mentioning the source of information to become a professional leaning community.

This also helps to replicate a real world situation in a classroom setting through various modes like role plays and software based modeling. Such activities link the concepts learnt by the students to their application in the professional field. During this activity, the students imagine themselves in the decision making situation and act accordingly using all the available data and theoretical models.

Lectures & Tutorials

The lectures conducted for every course are there to infuse and develop in the students the analytical, conceptual, presentation, communication and application oriented skills. The class rooms and lecture halls are well equipped with modern teaching aids like multimedia.

Teaching Soft skills Hardway

Our groundbreaking new curriculum ensures that every IITT student learns not only the basics of business, but how to connect with others and make things happen.

Reinventing the curriculum to include soft skills

Employers feel that hard skills are only one part of the equation. They are looking to hire graduates with soft skills. These are people who can connect the dots and actually make things happen—who know how to influence the world around them, articulate their ideas clearly, and build strong relationships. IITT has created the curriculum to ensure that every graduate of the various programs have the five key competencies (see right) necessary to get the job done in the real world.

The DNA of an IITT Education Program

IITT curriculum provides you with the theory, tools, terminology, and trends for a solid understanding. However, what makes IITT unique is the addition of a Professional Development track that focuses on your ability to harness and apply knowledge with a finesse that is often labeled as "soft skills." By mastering the key competencies of adaptive thinking, communication, relationships, teamwork, and execution, IITT graduates are as savvy, mission-driven, globally aware who can produce results in collaboration with others.
